God’s Best-Kept Secret On Tithing – Can You Take It? [17 February 2008]

17 February 2008 – Second Service preached by Pastor Joseph Prince - The revelation of tithing !

DARK SAYINGS UPON THE HARP

Psalm 49:4

I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp .

The word translated as “harp” in Psalm 49:4 is kinnoret which is another name for the Sea of Galilee. Jesus Christ preached many of his parables at Galilee and that is where the mother of all parables – the parable of the Sower (in Luke Chapter Eight) – the key to unlocking all parables was preached (i.e. via giving ear to the Word). Therefore we can understand Psalm 49:4 to mean: I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon JESUS !
WARNING: This message is only for those with a heart for revelation of GOD! LUKE 15 – Green’s Literal Translation

1 And all the tax collectors and sinners were coming near to Him, to hear Him. 2 And the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, This one receives sinners and eats with them. 3 And He spoke to them this parable, saying, 4 What man of you having a hundred sheep, and losing one of them, does not leave the ninety nine in the deserted place and go after the lost one until he finds it? 5 And finding it , he puts it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And coming to the house, he calls together the friends and neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that had been lost. 7 I say to you that so is joy in Heaven over one sinner repenting, than over ninety nine righteous ones who have no need of repentance. 8 Or what woman having ten drachmas, if she loses one drachma does not light a lamp and sweep the house, and look carefully until she finds it? 9 And finding it , she calls together the friends and neighbors, saying, Rejoice with me, for I have found the drachma which I lost. 10 I say to you, So there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner repenting. 11 And He said, A certain man had two sons. 12 And the younger of them said to the father, Father give me that part of the property falling to me . And he divided the living to them. 13 And not many days after, gathering up all things, the younger son went away to a distant country. And there he wasted his property, living dissolutely. 14 But having spent all his things, a severe famine came throughout that country, and he began to be in need. 15 And going, he was joined to one of the citizens of that country. And he sent him into his fields to feed pigs. 16 And he longed to fill his stomach from the husks which the pigs ate, but no one gave to him. 17 But coming to himself he said, How many servants of my father have plenty of loaves, and I am perishing with famine. 18 Rising up, I will go to my father, and I will say to him, Father, I sinned against Heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your hired servants. 20 And rising up, he came to his father. But he yet being far away, his father saw him and was moved with pity. And running, he fell on his neck and fervently kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven and before you, and no longer am I worthy to be called your son. 22 But the father said to his slaves, Bring out the best robe and clothe him, and give a ring for his hand and sandals for his feet. 23 And bring the fattened calf, slaughter and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this son of mine was dead, and lived again, and was lost, and was found. And they began to be merry. 25 But the older son was in a field. And having come, as he drew near to the house, he heard music and dances. 26 And having called one of the children, he inquired what this may be. 27 And he said to him, Your brother came, and your father killed the fattened calf, because he received him back in health. 28 But he was angry and did not desire to go in. Then coming out, his father begged him. 29 But answering, he said to the father, Behold, so many years I serve you, and I have never transgressed a command of you. And you never gave a goat to me , so that I might be merry with my friends. 30 But when this son of yours came, the one devouring your living with harlots, you killed the fattened calf for him. 31 But he said to him, Child, you are always with me, and all of my things are yours. 32 But to be merry and to rejoice was right, for this brother of yours was dead, and lived again; and being lost, also he was found.

Luke 15 parables emphasize the JOY of the Finder. Notice  the decreasing number : Lost sheep – 100 sheep originally , lost coin – 10 coins originally , lost prodigal son – 2 sons originally Luke 15 can be understood to be a picture of the history of the Church and and how God reveals Himself to Church.

Trinity is evident in all 3 parables. The Shephard (the Son – Jesus Christ) goes looking for sheep. The Father (God) looks for the lost prodigal. The woman (picture of Church) which is indwelt by Holy Spirit goes looking for the coin.
IN the past, people only know GOD as shepherd i.e. Shephard and Sheep truth. In the last days, it the revelation of the SON. (As in Father and prodigal son). Sheep just follow and eat. SONS govern and rule.
10 silver coins -> means only 10 will realise the truth. She is looking for the truth. The revelation of tithing truth.
This message is about the revelation of the lost 1/10 . Why is tithing veiled here in NT? Answer: The same reason why Jesus is not declared openly. If people saw Jesus resurrected without faith and revelation, they would still perish. Same with the tithe. If you tithe with no revelation, then you get no results. Contrary to popular belief. Jesus shared in parables so that truths were hidden from those who were not interested. MONEY IS BY NATURE – FILTHY! Luke 16 – Green’s Literal 9 And I say to you, Make to yourselves friends by the unrighteous mammon, that when it fails they may take you into the eternal dwellings. 10 He faithful in the least is also faithful in much. And he unrighteous in the least is also unrighteous in much. 11 Then if you were not faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will entrust the true to you? 12 And if you were not faithful in that of another, who will give to you that which is yours? 13 No servant is able to serve two lords; for either he will hate the one, and he will love the other; or he will cling to one, and he will despise the other. You are unable to serve God and mammon. 14 And being lovers of money, the Pharisees also heard all these things; and they derided Him. 15 And He said to them, You are those justifying yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts; for the thing highly prized among men is a hateful thing before God.

Money is actually filthy! Make use of money to make friends – love people. Not use people to make money! Also, it is if you are faithful with money, then you are blessed. Not if you are blessed with spiritual fruit, then money cometh. Romans 11:16

For if the firstfruit [be] holy, the lump [is] also [holy]: and if the root [be] holy, so [are] the branches.

This is how you sanctify money! You must tithe! You must put the fruit in God’s financial system, which system is unshakeable.

Mr Kraft of Kraft Cheese tithed 25% and he said, “The only dividend that has paid increasing dividend is money given to LORD.” ONLY LORD CAN KEEP LAW. The 10 commandments and tithe belong to LORD. Same principle. Give the tenth to GOD as the 1/10 cannot be kept safely by Man.
TEN LEPERS. Only one came back!  Only one came back to give glory to GOD! The tithe! LUKE 17 – Green’s 11 And it happened in His going to Jerusalem even He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12 And He entering into a certain village, ten leprous men met Him, who stood afar off. 13 And they lifted their voice, saying, Jesus, Master, pity us. 14 And seeing them , He said to them, Going, show yourselves to the priests. And it happened in their going they were cleansed. 15 And one of them, seeing that he was cured, returned glorifying God with a loud voice. 16 And he fell on his face at His feet, thanking Him. And he was a Samaritan. 17 And answering, Jesus said, Were not the ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18 Were not any found returning to give glory to God except this foreigner? 19 And He said to him, Rising up, go! Your faith has cured you. The temple is not the place to give glory to God. That is where the 9 went – to the priests – priests are found in temple. If the 9 had come to Jesus, all Israel whould have beens saved as leprosy is a picture of sin. As it turned out, only 1/10 came and in the form of a gentile Samaritan and as a result we the Gentile church have had 2000 years of blessing! TWELVE SPIES “And what the land [is], whether it [be] fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time [was] the time of the firstripe grapes.” – Num 13:20

The spying of out of the Land took place during the time of the first fruit of the grape harvest. Joshua and Caleb were the only 2 who said that they are well able to take the Land. The moment they said that, they and their tribes became reckoned with the LORD. The remaining were 10 tribes. The number 2 is that of testimony and witness. The number 10 is that of the law and the perfect tenth. Because 10 defied the LORD the result condemned Israel as a whole. This is because 10 symbolised the whole of Israel.

2 + 10 = testimony + law  (combo) is found throughout Bible

2 + 5 (Grace) is found in N.T. example 2 loaves of bread and 5 baskets of fish used by Jesus in the miracle of multiplication to feed 5,000 resulted in 12 baskets full of leftovers.

TIME MAGAZINE
1945 edition of 30 July speaks of a man named Perryu Madon (?) who experimented with tithing on hois field. The field started out tiny. The end result was that it grew and grew that he ended up providing seed for several states in USA! Genesis (Green’s Literal) 12 And Isaac sowed in that land. And a hundredfold was found in that year, and Jehovah blessed him. 13 And the man grew great, and he went on, going on to be great, until he became exceedingly great. 14 And possessions of flocks and possessions of herds, and many slaves were his. And the Philistines envied him. Genesis (Green’s Literal) 20 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God is with me and keeps me in this way which I am going, and gives to me bread to eat and clothing to wear, 21 and I return in peace to the house of my father, then Jehovah shall be my God, 22 and this stone which I have placed as a memorial pillar shall become the house of God; and all which You shall give to me, I will tithe the tenth to You. Genesis 26:12-14 and Genesis 28:20-22 prove that tithing was not just a one-off thing or even just a monthly affair. In fact, Abraham tithed all the time, not just once to Melchisedek after the battle. Bible is space scare therefore it cannot record in every chapter that Abraham tithed. It just records the significant occasions in which he and the other patriachs did. FIRST FRUITS But now is Christ risen from the dead, [and] become the firstfruits of them that slept. (1 Cor 15:20) But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. (1 Cor 15:23)
The first fruits make the rest holy! Jesus as our tithe is risen from death so we are guaranteed to rise. In fact this is the supreme wisdom of GOD. The world through evil intention crucified LORD. Through this they tithed unwittingly and unknowingly! GOD used this tithe as a legal excuse to bless us with Life Eternal! Heb 7:1-10 1 For this “Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God,” the one meeting Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, “and blessing him;” 2 to whom also Abraham “divided a tenth from all” (first being interpreted, king of righteousness; and then also king of Salem, which is, king of peace, Gen. 14:17-20 3 without father, without mother, without genealogy, nor beginning of days, nor having end of life, but having been made like the Son of God, he remains a priest in perpetuity). 4 Now behold how great this one was , to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils; 5 and indeed those of the sons of Levi receiving the priesthood have a command to tithe the people according to Law, (that is, from their brothers, though coming forth out of Abraham’s loins), 6 but he not counting his genealogy from them has tithed Abraham, and has blessed the one having the promises. 7 But without contradiction, the lesser is blessed by the better. 8 And here dying men indeed receive tithes, but there it having been witnessed that he lives; 9 and as a word to say, through Abraham Levi also, the one receiving tithes, has been tithed. 10 For he was yet in his father’s loins when Melchizedek met him. In OT. it is ‘fear’ to not tithe as without tithe no blessings. Had to be commanded to tithe. Heb 7:6

But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.

The above is NT tithe.

PASTOR PRINCE says he no doubt that some of the richest people will come from this SECOND service!

Caterpillar founded is tither. He belived that first thing to do when you receive blessing is to Tithe!

Heb 7:8: Giving the tithe is testimony that HE lives!

HOLY SPIRIT in the church is the light in the lamp showing revelation to Church especially Tithing!

Hebrew words – The rich is in the tithe (Asar)
PROVERBS 3:9-10 9 Honor Jehovah with your substance, and with the firstfruits of all your increase, 10 and your barns shall be filled with plenty, and your presses shall burst with new wine.
NEW WINE is grace. Proof: Jesus said you must have new wine in new winskins.

The above is also clearly a N.T verse. I [am] the God of Bethel, where thou anointedst the pillar, [and] where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred. (Gensis 31:13)
Laban had cheated Jacob many times and changed his wages but GOD said in Genesis 31:13 that He would bless Jacob and remember Bethel where Jacob vowed the tithe  to GOD.
