Combined Sunday Service @ Singapore Indoor Stadium on 11 May 2008 - Celebrating modern Israel’s 60th birthday and Ps Prince’s birthday on 15 May
Mark Zschech has an economist friend who said that in these volatile times he cannot predict what lies ahead a mere 15 days’ in the future.
How did the present economic malaise come about? The sub-prime ‘crisis’ had its roots in the forced removal of Israeli settlers from their homes in Gaza in 2005. The US had a role in supporting this forced removal of Israel settlers. At around the same time, hurricane Katrina hit US and deprived US citizens of their homes as well. The sub-prime crisis has also resulted in many in the US losing their homes to the banks, etc.
Gen 47:23: “ Then Joseph said unto the people, Behold, I have bought you this day and your land for Pharaoh: lo, [here is] seed for you, and ye shall sow the land.”
The people kept coming to Joseph for bread until he finally gave them seed and told them to sow.
Gen 41:45: “And Pharaoh called Joseph’s name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And Joseph went out over [all] the land of Egypt.”
Zaphnathpaaneah means: (1) Saviour of World; or (2) Revealer of Secrets. Very apt for the individual which best typifies Jesus Christ in the OT.
Acts 7:11-14: “Now there came a dearth over all the land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great affliction: and our fathers found no sustenance. But when Jacob heard that there was corn in Egypt, he sent out our fathers first. And at the second time Joseph was made known to his brethren; and Joseph’s kindred was made known unto Pharaoh. Then sent Joseph, and called his father Jacob to him, and all his kindred, threescore and fifteen souls.”
At the 2nd coming of Christ, his Jewish brothers in modern Israel will recognise Him as Messiah.
The mother of Joseph and Benjamin was Rachel. Rachel means, ewe-lamb, a picture of the Church.
Bread is a picture of revelation of the Word and healing for your bodies and your children.
Gen 42:18-20 “And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live; [for] I fear God: If ye [be] true [men], let one of your brethren be bound in the house of your prison: go ye, carry corn for the famine of your houses: But bring your youngest brother unto me; so shall your words be verified, and ye shall not die. And they did so.”
There would be no more bread until the Ben-Gen stands before Joseph / Jesus.
At the same time Simeon (hearing) is bound until Ben-Gen stands before Jesus.
Simeon in Luke 2:25-35 represents the Law.
Why?
The first commandment is (Deu 6:4-5):
“Hear [Hebrew = Shema] , O Israel: The LORD our God [is] one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.”
Simeon in Luke 2:25-35 begins to bless and glorify the infant Jesus.
Simeon then says in Luke 2:29 :”Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:”
Even the Law was glad to depart for Jesus Christ and His Grace.
Gen 42:36 “And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved [of my children]: Joseph [is] not, and Simeon [is] not, and ye will take Benjamin [away]: all these things are against me.”
Jacob (type of present day Jewish nation) believed Joseph / Jesus to be dead and therefore did not want to release Benjamin. Sometimes, when you are not in the same wavelength as GOD, you fail to see that He actually means to bless you.
Pastor observes that the more alike a person is to another in gender or occupation, the greater the potential for envy and jealousy. E.g. Some pastors are envious of others.
Whenever you see someone else in Christ being blessed e.g. Joseph, know that this is save you alive. The gifts are conferred on the individual to bless us collectively.
Gen 50:20 ” But as for you, ye thought evil against me; [but] God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as [it is] this day, to save much people alive.”
For the rest of his brothers, Joseph did not weep but for Benjamin, it is written in Gen 43:30 that:
“And Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought [where] to weep; and he entered into [his] chamber, and wept there.”
Benjamin Generation is in the Land.
One indicator of this is that Bejamin Netanyahu became PM (the youngest) of Israel in 1996.
Benjamin in the OT has a life marked by – 5 – the number of Grace.
Gen 43:29: “And he lifted up his eyes, and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother’s son, and said, [Is] this your younger brother, of whom ye spake unto me? And he said, God be gracious unto thee, my son.”
All the other sons were named by their mothers. Women are a picture of denominations or movements.
Only Benjamin was named for his Father. We learn from this that this Ben-Gen move of the Holy Spirit now is named by God the Father. Other ‘generations’ e.g. Joshua Generation, etc were named by churches and movements.
We are no longer in the Elijah or Joshua generation, we are the Ben-Gen.
Gen 43:34 :”And he took [and sent] messes unto them from before him: but Benjamin’s mess was five times so much as any of theirs. And they drank, and were merry with him.”
Ben-Gen has 5x more serving of food. SO as BELIEVERS don’t stock and hoard up rice!
Another example of “5″ being the number of Grace is shown in King David’s life.
The fifth name David name is mentioned is 1 Sam 16:19-22: “Wherefore Saul sent messengers unto Jesse, and said, Send me David thy son, which [is] with the sheep. And Jesse took an ass [laden] with bread, and a bottle of wine, and a kid, and sent [them] by David his son unto Saul. And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armourbearer. And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favour in my sight.”
Ben-Gen also enjoyed 5 changes of garment.
Gen 45:22: “ To all of them he gave each man changes of raiment; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred [pieces] of silver, and five changes of raiment.”
Silver cup was also in Benjamin’ sack (Gen 44:2)
The cup was empty signifying – no more judgement – for the Ben-Gen because of Jesus’ work. Jesus had drunk the cup of condemnation on our behalf.
Gen 45:1: “Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.”
When Jesus reveals himself to Israel. No other nation will stand before Him for this family re-union.
Ben-Gen has favour with Joseph and with Judah as well as demonstrated in Judah’s actions towards Benjamin.
Judah said in Gen 44:33 “Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to my lord; and let the lad go up with his brethren. For how shall I go up to my father, and the lad [be] not with me? lest peradventure I see the evil that shall come on my father.”
Now there was a change of heart. In the past, the brothers had laughed at the then youngest (Joseph) as he was carried away into captivity. Now they stood up for Benjamin – the now youngest.
