Former Deputy Prime Minister and prime economic architect of modern Singapore, Dr Goh Keng Swee, passed away on 14 May 2010.
I thought nothing of this date until watching a video on Israel’s military victories made me realize that David Ben-Gurion, the first Prime Minister of modern Israel proclaimed independence for Israel on 14 May 1948.
Amazing isn’t it?
Dr Goh was the one who forged the close military and then economic links between Israel and Singapore.
Here is something even more interesting.
Because Dr Goh passed away in the morning of 14 May 2010, it was too late for the Straits Times (the main broadsheet Singapore newspaper) to headline the news until 15 May 2010, when it was published as front page news.
15-05-2010 : Notice the multiples of “5″ in that date !
The number “5″ in Bible numerics is symbolic of God’s Grace.
Truly, it is God’s Grace that Singapore was blessed with such a visionary founding-father in Dr Goh Keng Swee.
There is another interesting and gracious tidbit here.
I understand that the actual birthday of Senior Pastor Prince of New Creation Church is 15 May. He turned 47 this year.
2 Men, 2 Nations, 1 Destiny in God’s Grace.

P.S. The motto of Anglo-Chinese School which Dr Goh Keng Swee studied in when he was a boy is “The Best Is Yet To Be”. I see this as powerful encouragement to us as well as to this nation of Singapore.
