BenGen and YOG

Shalom Folks !

My family and I were had the awesome privilege of attending the grand opening ceremony of the inaugural Youth Olympic Games (“YOG”)  in Singapore on  Saturday, August 14, 2010.

Pastor Prince made allusions to the lighting of the YOG flame during his sermon in church today (15 Aug 2010).

The YOG flame had first crossed the waters of Marina Bay via boat before it was eventually carried on land by relay runners until the final runner lit up the cauldron of fire which swirled up a light-house structure which burst into the FLAME !

In his sermon, Pastor said that he felt that the Benjamin Generation was indeed spiritually in the Land as thousands of youth from all over the world gathered in Singapore.

Also the flame swirling in the light-house reminded him of GOD represented in the Pillar of Fire leading the Children of Israel.

Moreover, the crossing of the Red Sea led by Moses and the Pillar of Fire was at night ! Much like the journey the YOG flame took on 14 Aug.

Personally, I like the fact that the relay runner appeared to be like walking on water as he carried the flame to light the cauldron.

Earlier, there was also a segment entitled “Monster” which depicted a child defeating his inner fears.  Some media reports said this reminded them of the David and Goliath story. I agree !

Have a great YOG folks ! Shalom !
