Hebrew word pictures for Priest / Cohen

Learnt this from Pastor Lian’s 26 September 2010 sermon.

The English transliteration for Hebrew word for priest is Cohen which reads:

כֹּהֵן

כֹּ

The first letter is prounced – kaph -  has the pictograph of a hand placed over someone’s head in blessing.

הֵ

The next letter is pronounced – hey – has the pictograph of a window which we understand as God’s Grace.

ן

The last letter of Cohen is – nun – has the pictograph of  fishes. Fishes carry the idea of a multitude of people. “… fishers of Men …”" (Matt 4:19)

Therefore putting the 3 letter together we have:

Our high priest, Jesus, imparts grace blessing to us (the multitiude of believers).
