THE SECRET OF HEARING THAT BRINGS UNTOLD BLESSINGS

Edited notes – version 2.0 [with benefit of  CD]

PRESENCE OF GOD

Prior to sermon. Thick presence of God. Ruach wind of Holy Spirit lingered for several wonderful minutes. Pastor ministered to us during this healing wind of the Holy Spirit. Many healings reported in the first service !

Repeated in second service but this time with pastor leading in prophetic spiritual songs which continues for many lovely minutes.

2011 = YEAR OF CROWNED GOODNESS

Psalm 65:11 – “Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.”

2011 is the year of unmixed and unadulterated goodness.

It is not a year mixed where goodness is mixed with judgement.

YEAR OF RESTFUL INCREASE CONTINUES

In 2010 (year of restful increase), God gave us some scriptures in connection with the One North project and the exact scriptures the Editor understands to be:

Leviticus 25:4    But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.

Leviticus 25:19     And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety

Leviticus 25:20     And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase:

Leviticus 25:21    Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.

God is saying to us that He will bless us with goodness and blessing and for 3 years we will have good harvest as we enter in to the 7th year – sabbath – in which year we’ll have more than enough .

Years of restful increase continues till we arrive in  one north !

For 3 years restful increase will continue. 1st year was 2010. 2011 is 2nd year of restful increase but specific theme is year of crowned goodness.

So keep yourself in His rest.

WE NEED TO LOOK AT THE GOOD SIDE OF THINGS

We need to look at the good side of things.

We need to continuously hear the Gospel of peace.

Always listen to glad tidings or good things.

Man has propensity to look at evil or negative.

You may hear 10 good compliments but you focus on that one negative and it upsets you. Even leaders appear not to be immune to this.

We seem to have this inclination to focus on that one tree which God has told us that we cannot eat from and ignore the multitude of trees which we can eat from!

In 2011, we got to focus on purpose on things which are good, positive. We have a good news Gospel !

It’s sad that you don’t need to teach that God judges but you need to teach that God is good.

DRAW ALL MEN

John 12:31    Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

John 12:32    And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all [men] unto me.

The word ‘men’ in the expression ‘draw all men’ in John 12:32 is in italics. In the context actually , we note that Jesus draws all judgement to him on Cross when He is lifted up on the Cross.

God is righteous in being righteous !

God sees us perfect because He sees the perfect work of the Son.

NCC AND TAXI DRIVERS

More than one cab driver in Singapore is either in NCC as a member or impacted by members of NCC.

One taxi driver received a NCC cd and SGD 50 from NCC member. This was more than enough for the cab fare. This is spreading the gospel with style.

TURKISH TOUR GUIDE

Some time ago, Pastor preached to a particular Turkish tour guide and this guide received Jesus as saviour. Now this guide loves Jesus. The guide is also passionate about Paul.

This same guide on another time shared the video of the DVD of the Grace and Favor conference on a tour bus. This was a secular tour of Turkey that he was guiding. After tour ended, 6 members of the group identified themselves as from NCC and each gave USD 100 in tips to him. This greatly impacted the tour guide.

NOTHING IS RECEIVED WITHOUT FAITH IN THE CHRISTIAN LIFE

Whatever received by faith STAYS.

If you receive but not by faith, it won’t stay.

You learn to keep what you received by faith.

Without faith, it is  impossible to please God.

Saved by faith, healed by faith.

Fight good fight of faith. Fight to believe that what God has given you, you have.

The devil is simply a demon spirit that tells you that you don’t have it. Don’t concentrate on him.

Focus on faith in Jesus Christ. When you are in faith, the devil is defeated. Don’t focus on devil. When you are not in faith, you can yell at him all day long but he has won.

Fight to remain in and fight from faith.

Every temptation of devil is to bring you out of faith.

Faith has got to do with Jesus – author and finisher of faith. Spend time with Jesus and Word, your faith will grow.

HEARING IS MENTIONED TWICE IN ROM 10:17

Idea is faith comes if you keep on hearing.

Faith doesn’t come from having heard but hearing and hearing good news.

Now that we know how faith comes, we ought to position ourselves at the ‘spout where the glory comes out’.

Rom 10:14 – 17

Rom 10:14    “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and HOW  shall they hear WITHOUT a preacher?”

Norm is hearing from preacher (or perhaps from a book) to produce faith.

Of course faith coming from hearing God can also come from His inward witness but this might induce pride (e.g. ‘I don’t have to attend church because God speaks to me direct’ or ‘I don’t have to come under 5 fold ministry or come under anyone because God speaks to me direct’) , unless the inward witness is received when you are in the ‘flow’ with God, often this inward witness would also be in line with hearing the preacher .

Rom 10:15    “And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”

Rom 10:16    “But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? “

Rom 10:17    “So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God [Greek: Christos]. “

What does one hear to build faith ?  Those who preach gospel of peace , that is, no more war between God and you, because Jesus has put away all your sins and God sees you holy, perfect and blameless. Not that you are perfect BUT God SEES you perfect because God sees the perfect work of Jesus in removing your sins.

Thus always hear those preaching gospel of peace.

And also listen to glad tidings of good things. That’s how faith comes.

Woman with issue of blood. Process started when somebody told her of Jesus and she heard . This was what led her eventually to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment. Her faith was continuously being built up since she first heard of Jesus.

Hear word of Christos . Be specific. It is not word of Theos. Lest, it becomes legalistic and burdensome.

Nevertheless, commandments become enablements when you realise Jesus fulfilled them all on the Cross.

That’s how faith comes !

This year is pure unmixed goodness

God is health of our countenance . (Psalm 42:11 and Psalm 43:5)

Rom 10:16-17

Listen carefully also equals to repeated hearing.

GIVE REVELATION, NOT LAW

Paul always reminds us who we are in Christ inspite of failings, immorality, strife, etc. Eg to Corinthians. Instead of law. Paul reminds them of their true identity in Christ and how wealthy they are. There is a place where because God has done this for us so we can walk like this.

The Corinthians Christians were going to temple prostitutes and having ‘union’ with the deities there. It would have been not out of the norm for Paul to preach the 10 commandments to the Corinthians and give them ‘the law’. Many teachings today would say that such folks would now have bodies filled with demons. But Paul said, Don’t you know that your body IS the temple of the Holy Spirit … (this is what we call — ‘revelation’).

Or in another area of sin, — strife, Paul reminds the church , don’t you know that you shall judge [fallen] angels, so why not settle things amongst yourselves being fellow believers rather than going before the law courts.

Some people still arguing about which preachers they are supporting (“I am of Paul, I am of Apollos” ) The response should be Don’t you know “all things are yours?” or  Don’t you know  “you are Christ’s “!

Very easy to give law, not so easy, to give revelation to the people by the Holy Spirit!

PSALM 103

Psalm 103. When satisfied with good (Hebrew – tov) , youth renewed.

Psalm 103:5    Who satisfieth thy mouth with good [things; so that] thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Eagle’s youth renewal is literal, so shall your youth be renewed literally. Like Sarah.

When you soul is satisfied with fatness and abundance, your youth is renewed literally .

You got to hear until you are satisfied.

Word of Christ – makes our soul satisfied from the inside. When satisfied, our youth is renewed like the eagles- literally, not metaphorically or just spiritually.

Tov – Hebrew for goodness
Deshen-  Hebrew for fatness, abundance

Ps 65:11, Isa 55:2 —> both Tov and Deshen appear together here

ISA 55:2-3

Tov and deshen in one verse ISA 55:2 which teaches us to walk in tov and deshen.

Isa 55:2    Wherefore do ye spend money for [that which is] not bread? and your labour for [that which] satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye [that which is] good [tov: Hebrew transliteration] , and let your soul delight itself in fatness [deshen: Hebrew transliteration].

“hearken diligently” is not good enough as a translation. The Hebrew transliteration is Shema - Shin, Mem, Ayin – repeated twice in Isaiah 55:2!

hearken diligently / listen carefuly = Listen, listening. Hear, hearing (Shema-Shema).

Greatest commandment begins with “shema” or hear. “Hear O Israel, the lord our God is one Lord ! (Deu 6:4)  — THE SHEMA

Echad – “one” in “one Lord”  – refers to compound unity not ‘yachid‘ singular .

Also : Elohim (translation for ‘God’) – plural (triune God)
Eloha is the Hebrew for singular.

Triune God

Orthodox Jews ask have you said the shema. Before they pass on they hope they have said shema.

EVERY BLESSING FROM GOD COMES BY FAITH

Be at the spout where the glory comes out.

If no faith, faith can come to you. How?  Hear ! Rom 10:17 is shema shema of New Testament.

One key for this year: nothing for us to perform. — Just listening !

Listening with a listening heart releases the blessings.  All the blessings come from listening carefully.

Shema leb. Hearing heart. That was Solomon’s prayer in 1 Kings 3:9

Give therefore thy servant an understanding [Hebrew: shema] heart [Hebrew: leb] to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?

One key to enjoying His provision and abundance- LISTEN with a listening heart (Solomon’s prayer). Not performance.

Keep hearing if no manifestation yet.

Shema Shema- same as ‘faith comes by hearing and hearing by the…. ‘ in New Testament. Not enough to hear it once. Keep on hearing to see manifestation in your life. Don’t be discouraged. Keep on hearing.

We the iPod-generation have no excuse.

Pod contains seeds. Word of God is incorruptible seed. God’s seed touching your seed makes it incorruptible.

When you listen to God’s Word using the iPod, you are partaking of God’s INcorruptible seed and you will be blessed !

Seed of God is INcorruptible and touching your seed will make it incorruptible and produce things in life which are NOT corruptible. Sperma, in greek and, Zera, in Hebrew .

Keep on hearing and don’t stop listening. You might miss something the first time around so listen again and again. Hearing, hearing is FULL attention and with your heart. Not just mere repeated hearing. Listen with your physical ears and listen with your heart. Because your heart has ears.

Your heart (leb) has ears.

THE KEY SHEMA SHEMA PROMISES

Listen and listen again. Shema Shema (shema repeated twice) in the scriptures.

Exo 15:26 – 1st time shema shema appears.

Exo 15:26 “And said, If thou wilt diligently [Hebrew: Shema] hearken [Hebrew: Shema] to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I [am] the LORD that healeth [Hebrew: YHWH Rapha] thee.

Exo 15:26 is the first time that God is revealed as YHWH Rapha — the Lord that heals us.

Diligently heed / diligently hearken  – shema shema (shimoa tishma – is how the Hebrew prounces the double shema)

Result: No diseases !

That’s all we need to do. Shema Shema. All commandments kept by Jesus and set to our account.

Do we have to keep commandments and dictates today to have healing? No. Because Jesus kept it all for us. God knew we cannot so He sent Jesus to perform it so that it is set to our account. The condition- the “IF”s – done by Christ. So all left for us to do is to LISTEN LISTEN.

Lady with Issue of Blood broke a number of commandments but Jesus said that her faith made her well. So obviously our healing is not because of our perfect keeping of the  commandments. Today, we have healing not because we keep laws. Chapter begins with when ‘she heard of Jesus’ (Mark 5:27). What did she hear? She heard good news that Jesus was healing people and this led her to touch the garment of Jesus!

Let our mouths drip with fatness – abundance and goodness — share with people about Jesus and His wonders.  That’s how the lady with the issue of blood and others started the process whereby they received their healing from Jesus.

Lady whose son was 7 had stage 4 cancer. Someone told her about NCC. This lady was a first-timer at church. She did not know where to sit, how to pray, etc. She heard the Word. Faith came. At end of the NCC service, Pastor blessed the congregation with the Aaronic blessing. The lady felt God’s anointing and received the Word for her son. Her son healed of Stage 4 cancer. Shema Shema ! Somewhere along the way, the lady heard.

Praise God for the media publicity on NCC in the past which resulted in lady hearing of NCC and caused her to visit NCC.

CAME TO HEAR JESUS TO BE HEALED.

Goodness of God leads man to repentance. Jesus never had to pre-qualify people for healing. This was and is the biblical model for healing.

When Jesus healed, the only requirement for healing was that they must listen to Him.

Luke 5:15

Came to HEAR and be HEALED.

Hear and be healed is God pattern.

Hear Jesus and you receive faith for healing.

Preaching, teaching , healing. Always the sequence in Jesus’ healing ministry.

Want healing ? Listen to all God has to say of healing.

Luke 5:15  “But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.”

‘great multitudes’ – probably in the tens of thousands

Many people want pastors to go to their house to pray for someone who has heard nothing of Jesus. There is no corresponding action because Faith is a response to God’s goodness. Need healing? You need hearing too — all that God says about healing.

People did not just come to be healed. They came to hear, and be healed.

HEALINGS OF ANOREXIA AND INSOMNIA

A dad had a daughter plagued by anorexia. The daughter received healing because her dad inclined his ears to the Word. Meditated on His Word. Power of God’s Word. Prayed in tongues as well.

If you cannot sleep, you could spend that ‘extra’ time meditating on God’s Word and this is a blessing. Minister to yourself. Preach to yourself using His Word.

Like David. “… meditate on thee in the night watches… (Psalm 63:6)’  or “… Mine eyes prevent the [night] watches, that I might meditate in thy word…. (Psalm 119:148)”

Pastor meditated on Psalm 23 and had a restful sleep “the lord is my shepherd , I shall not want….” very shortly after. He woke next morning well rested and refreshed. A supernatural rest.

Sometimes you are the only preacher available so store up some verses and meditate or mutter in faith on them and chew on the Word in different angles for good success. Don’t lose God’s Word.

Meditate is worry in reverse. So anybody can meditate because all can worry.

THEY LEARNED FAST

Luke 6:17-19

V 17 came to hear him and be healed

And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;

V18

And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.

V 19 healed them All

And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed [them] A L L.

Context: came to hear

People learn fast

We need to constantly hear that God is a good God.

There are people who come to a pastor and want healing but don’t want to hear the Word. What is it about these people who feel they don’t need faith ? Faith is simply the belief that God is Good. All of us are naturally negative and need reminders that God is good (people don’t need reminders that God judges).  People tend to disbelieve God instead of trusting Him. Not in positive gear.

Just because you attend NCC doesn’t mean you know all the time that God is a good God -  what is your first response when you are in a crisis or when you receive bad news? That shows up who you are for real. So need reminders, to keep hearing, to grow more in faith, even more so if your response to trials is still negative — worrisome words and thoughts which fill your hearts with fear, etc

Pastor has prayed that God puts answers to his own problems and those of the people in his preached sermon.

LYSTRA

Lystra is where lame man was healed by Paul.

Prince felt kindred spirit with Turkey guide who brought him to Lystra as both like this place and Pastor wanted to see it. Guide loves Paul also after receiving Christ, Lystra became one of his favorite places.

Acts 14:7-11

Paul was preaching gospel of peace there in Lystra.

Preaching — is imperfect tense

Perfect tense on other hand is complete and never to be repeated action. Once and for all. Eg Jesus said ‘it is finished’

Imperfect tense- repeated or continual action. When Paul was in Lystra, he kept on preaching the gospel again and again.

This is a man whose legs had no strength, cripple, and he was healed. This is how people with stage 4 cancer can be healed, this is  how people with insurmountable debt have their debts paid in full. They keep on hearing .

The man heard Paul speaking – IMPERFECT TENSE as well. Means Paul could have gone to market place and preached, then maybe went to another place, synagogue , to preach. OR He could have preached in one place for several sessions to different crowds. Repeated Action in speaking.

Cripple kept hearing and hearing and hearing. Kept on hearing. Continual or repeatedly listening. Imperfect active indicative tense in when cripple kept on hearing.

Acts 14:7    And there they preached the gospel.

Acts 14:8    And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked:

Acts 14:9    The same heard Paul speak: who steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,

Acts 14:10    Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

Acts 14:11    And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.

Acts 14:9 — heard Paul speaking. Imperfect active indicative tense

This guy was there all the time hearing Paul perhaps through several sermons in Lystra . Maybe crippled was carried to various places in Lystra where Paul preached or Paul preached many sermons in one place and crippled stayed and heard several of these sermons.

Paul was preaching the GOOD news. Paul saw that the cripple had faith to be healed. Why? Because the cripple KEPT ON HEARING and somewhere along the way, his faith grew.

What we are hearing in today’s sermon is worth it’s weight in gold. Why? Most sermons emphasize what Paul did , and not what leper did .

What did leper do? He kept on hearing until faith was there to receive healing !

Only this guy mentioned in the biblical account and not the crowd. Why? Only this guy had faith to be healed. Somehow faith came after he kept on hearing somewhere along the way !  Paul could perceive this faith.

He not only stood up straight but jumped up.

BACK TO THE KEY SHEMA SHEMA PROMISES

Healing – first thing that happens when you listen listen.  (Exo 15:26)

You cannot find Shema (x2) in Genesis. First reference of Shema (x2) in Exo 15:26

Shamoa thisma is ‘hear hearing’ – both forms of shema. This is how the Israeli pronounce – Shema Shema.

SECOND SHEMA SHEMA BLESSING

Deu 11:13-14 earnestly obey = shema x2

Deu 11:21 – net result: family blessing : long life and days of heaven on earth for family, etc

Deut 11:13-14 – family life. In your daily life, put God’s Word in your mouth and talk about His Word to kids and in all you do. DAYS WILL BE MULTIPLIED LIKE DAYS OF HEAVEN ON THE EARTH- days of joy, peace, no trouble, for you and your family.

Deu 11:13    And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken [Hebrew: Shema] diligently [Hebrew: Shema] unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

Deu 11:14    That I will give [you] the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.

Deu 11:21    That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.

Health comes first before family as you need health to serve and bless family and not burden them. Of course salvation in Christ is paramount before all the aforesaid. But greatest gift after Salvation is good health. Salvation, Health, then family.

DO NOT PUT PROSPERITY FIRST. OUR PRIORITY IS JESUS- healing for your total man, for your family, for your daily provision (blessed to be a blessing).

Jesus never qualified people to heal them. Many present-day ministries have fallen away from the way Jesus heals. WHOEVER came, they were healed. Surely in the great multitude there were people who did wrong.  Now some in healing ministry say people not healed because they don’t qualify. Don’t do that! Don’t try to cover up for your failure. Time to take responsibility and follow the pattern of Jesus. Jesus never qualified the people. We should instead commend people for having the faith to come to Christ as they are.

THIRD SHEMA SHEMA BLESSING

Deu 15:5-6 – third shema shema

“Carefully obey” in NKJV = Shema shema (in Hebrew)

Deu 15:5    Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day.  (KJV)

Deu 15:6    For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.

Those who lend reign over those who borrow.

Somewhere along the way we develop this debt / borrowing mentality in life.  Instead, we ought to trust God for our needs. Learn that those who lend reign over those who borrow.

Reigning has got to do with money !

Jewish teach kids to lend — ‘If you can lend, lend. Let the others borrow from you’   Jews learn from God’s Word. Many become money lenders.

Proverbs teaches us to train a child up in the way he should go, then borrower servant to lender is context.

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. ” Proverbs 22:6

“The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower [is] servant to the lender. ” Proverbs 22:7

Train kids to NOT borrow.

Train your kids about merits of lending and demerits of borrowing.

Listen your way into blessing

Jesus did not pre qualify people for healing

He healed them all notwithstanding non compliance with law.

SO THIRD BLESSING OF SHEMA SHEMA is prosperity. Deu 15:5-6

Shema Shema blessings are in sequence.

1.Healing

2.Family

3.Prosperity

4.  All Blessings are ours …

FOURTH SHEMA SHEMA BLESSING is Deu 28:1-3

Deu 28:1    And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently [Editor: shema shema is translated as "hearken diligently" ] unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe [and] to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

Deu 28:2    And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

Deu 28:3    Blessed [shalt] thou [be] in the city, and blessed [shalt] thou [be] in the field.

SO 4th SHEMA SHEMA BLESSING IS ALL BLESSINGS ARE OURS !

5th Shema Shema was ISA 55:2  : Eating God’s Goodness (tov) and delighting in His abundance (deshen) !

Diligently obey – shema shema

All blessings is result of shema shema the Word.

All God blessings will run smack into us and overtake us !

But Deu 28:15 only one shema, and bad things ensue !

Deu 28:15    “But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken [Hebrew: Shema.] [Editor: But only one shema] unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

Lesson. Keep on shema shema to receive blessings.

Bad things happen probably because Israelites heard only one time !  Whilst, good things happen because they keep on listening.

Keep on shema to receive good things.

BE YE DOERS OF WORD

People like to always quote James 1:23-25 out of context- be doers of the word and not bearers only. And that quote has robbed us of hearing more. People told that hearing not important, but doing is. They wrongly make it a contest between hearing and doing.

Actually if people keep on hearing God’s Word, they end up doing, they cannot help it.

Analogy: When you are full of energy, you cannot help but unleash it.

James 1:23 -25

Priority is still Hearing God’s Word

Jam 1:23    For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

Jam 1:24    For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

Jam 1:25    But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth [therein], he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

V23. Is someone who forgets his identity in Christ when he closes bible and does not act or walk in line with what the Bible says he is.

Mirror or ‘glass’ here is God’s word.

V25 law of liberty — and continues hearing

This ‘Law of liberty’ reference to Grace. It is law of the spirit of life, law of faith. This is the perfect law of freedom. Not a reference to 10 commandements.

V25 . Perfect law of liberty (good news) & CONTINUES (That is, Shema Shema – continuing looking into and hearing the Word; Faith comes by hearing and hearing…)— he will be blessed in all he does.

If a sermon blesses you, keep listening to it again and again.  In other words, keep on hearing until you act it out.

The one who is a hearer and not a doer is simply one who hears it once and forgets! The one who is a doer of the Word is one who continuously hears the Word.

ONLY ONE THING PAUL WANTS TO LEARN

Gal 3:2-5

Gal 3:2-5—- “THIS ONLY… ” what is it? HEARING is how we receive Holy Spirit. Not by performance of the Law. Nobody will receive, if it is by performance of law. How do you begin in the Spirit? By hearing ! That’s how we got saved.

Gal 3:3 — ‘perfect by the flesh’ refers to works.

Gal 3:2    “This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Gal 3:3    “Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?”

Gal 3:4    “Have you suffered so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain?”

Gal 3:5    “Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?”

Receive by hearing of faith not works of law!

God constant supplying  holy spirit and constant working miracles — in Greek tense .   Gal 3:5.   [That's a wonderful thought!]

How ? By hearing !!! Not works.

The more you hear, the more you will work it out. Don’t worry about performance.

Supplies- constant supply, constant miracles even though we keep “leaking”.

How does God constantly supply? By hearing! Not by works.

Why is it I have heard the sermon but not yet healed? Not enough to have heard, must keep on hearing.

Hebrews 4:2

Israel – Heard -  but perished as did not mix with faith.

‘Heard’ in Heb 4:2  is Greek aorist tense. This means they heard but only once and they thought they knew it. Did not keep hearing! They did not mix it with faith because they did not keep hearing.

Children of Israel died before reaching Promise Land although heard good news. The Word did not profit them because not mixed with faith- heard it once and they thought they knew it. Faith comes from hearing and hearing not just hear it once.

Heb 4:2   “For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard [it]. “

Drink from Jesus (living waters) to bless others. Don’t just draw for others, but you fail to drink !

Faith == You need to keep on hearing!

Those days when you fail or blah or sick etc, you notice you are down on faith and have not listened to good news in previous season.

Jesus told us ‘If anyone comes to me and drink …”

Drink for your nourishment then overflow for others.

100 days of favor devotional. By the time you finish the devotional. You will be so saturated with God’s goodness that you shall walk in favor of God. You will no longer be negative-minded BUT favor minded !

Keep hearing faith !!!

Learn to receive when faith is alive in your heart.

God constantly works miracles as you hear faith.

Faith is the channel in which God’s blessings flow.
