FAITH IS SUPERIOR TO THE LAW
Pastor Keith in 2nd svc led communion. He reminds us that Jesus took the sour wine at end of book of John at the Cross so that He could give the best wine to wedding couple at Cana at beginning of John.
We don’t have hung ups because Jesus hung on the Cross for us.
New Life Church pastors from Phillipines visited in 2nd svc.
Youth attended service in which sermon was on gifts of holy spirit . Youth felt hands burning and knew that God wanted to manifest healing gift through him for his aunt. After service, he laid hands on aunt and the tumor disappeared . The aunt also received Christ.
2 new pastors announced . People cannot call a pastor, God calls them and then equips them with pastoral gifts and function. Church then affirms and ordains them . Pastors are to serve. Serve in various functions. In senior pastor case, he is in preaching ministry. So he tries to remain undistracted and study to impart Word to us.
First new pastor is Pauline Ching. Tremendous gift for counseling. Has gift for discernment and also very sweet.
Next new pastor is Joash Siow. Has gift for Wisdom. Very cool and gentle. Very pastoral, caring. Does not lose temper.

Faith is superior to Law
What do you believe at beginning of day?
Effortless blessings.
Believe scripturally and you get God kind of results.
Jesus went to his own own country and read from Isaiah and declared the acceptable year of the Lord. Then closed the book without reading day of vengeance of God . Where Jesus closed, we must close the book.
Luke 4:24 – 30
They tried to push Jesus off the clift in Nazareth.
The Jews got offended at point when Jesus told the story of the gentile woman of Zarephath. Not offended at point when Jesus declared his was Messiah by his reading the passage.
First miracle is one of wealth. The oil never ran out and given to a gentile. Given to widow. Lowest rung . Miracle of abundance.
Second miracle was to Namaan – a gentile
Syrian.
The man was sent from Syria to meet Elisha.
You want God’s kind of results, you got to do it God’s way. In this case dip 7 times in Jordan not Syria’s rivers.
Miracle of Health.
2 illustrations of Gospel of Grace: Health and Wealth.
It is Gospel of Grace and Peace that produces Health and Wealth. Not health and wealth gospel per se.
Health and wealth do not come to people who deserve or merit it. That us why the Jews in Nazareth who had pride in nationality could not take it.
Christ alone must have all the praise and glory.
Therefore He does all the work.
Jesus does all the work in us and through us. We rest. We give God all the Glory !
Lay back in the rest of Jesus.
Nations advance because of the presence of Salt – Believers in them .
Jesus on purpose used these 2 illustrations !
And they happened to non Jews! Non-covenant people
So when Jews heard this story from Jesus, they were offended
But Jesus “passing through the midst” of them went his way. They could not kill Him before His time as no sin in Him. On Cross, He laid down His life. They could not take His life.
God sees our old Adam our sin nature, passed away on the Cross.
God deals with the true realities.
New creation .
We must live by faith.
Not dwell in the feelings even though it feels so real . To God, He sees that they are passed. See the way God sees.
Reckon it as this feeling of tiring Is of the old Adam. It is not us.
Of course, there is good tiredness. Like Jesus after ministering for some time . Or after you work hard at end of day, the tiredness produces good sleep.
Faith is superior to Law
Gal 4:21-26, 28-31
Just because you cannot see it, does not mean it does not exist or is not real.
Faith is based on the unseen.
Grace seems slow but Walk before God not man. God told Abraham to walk before him not Sarah. She was impatient and resulted in Ismail. Grace produces the child of promise
There are 613 commandments.
But Hebrew reads from right to left . So we should focus on:
John 3:16
Psalm 105:37 There were none feeble who came out of Egypt and they came out with silver and gold. This happen after they believe in the blood of the lamb.
This is pure faith and this produces results. Unmixed !
It is for pastors to believe God for health and wealth for their churches ! Amen !
As many as those who are of the works of the law, they are … THIS is in the present tense
The closer kinsman could not redeem Ruth as he cannot bent as it would mar his inheritance . This is pix of LAW. But Boaz a pix of grace can come in and he redeems!
Grace is looking for people most undeserving so that God can get all the Glory.
Faith is unconscious part to receiving 100 percent God’s part.
God will not allow a feather of our part to His part.
The sons of law persecute sons of grace. The galatians were so blessed by grace message that they even wanted to pluck out eyes for Paul. Then judaizers came and sowed doubt in them.
Jesus is greater that Law
Galatians 4:9
Galatians tried to mix law and grace
You know God by knowing that God knows you. (see this from Paul in Gal 4:9 when he corrected himself after opening sentence)
Identify yourself with the right thing
“weak and beggarly elements” – the law
Stoicheion – greek for Law
Heb 5:12-13
Judaism is actually going back to the abc , the elements
Judaism the first floors. Grace is the penthouse .
Weak – Greek – asthenes
Jesus told disciples to heal the sick which is greek : asthenes
Beggarly (Gk : ptochos (?) ) – poor , asking for alms.
Ismail would be about 15 years when Isaac was weaned . Ismail type of Law. We can estimate Ismail age because Isaac as Jewish child would be weaned at about 2 or 3 years old.
Son of bond woman shall not be heirs with
Children of grace
Children of grace inherit Heath and wealth
Law is holy and if you fail, it curses you.
Moon is a weak and beggarly affair in the presence of the Sun. This is analogy between Law and Grace
You cannot mix Law and Grace. God will not allow a feather of your works to be added to Jesus .
Why do we don’t see health and wealth? Some elements of Law crept into lives
of some churches so they are not resource churches
Ismail and Hagar were cast out . The mother called upon Lord ! The 15 years old was weak and needed his mother to help him. Law makes you weak.
Child of Law makes you bitter. Mixture produces bitterness
God spoke to Abraham through wife . God can do this for husbands. Cast out bond woman , Sarah said.
But no nagging ! It does not say, Sarah was in the imperfect Hebrew tense and kept saying : cast out
Contrast with Grace which made Isaac strong and when he was a teen he could help Abraham carry the wood up Moriah !
Mixture makes one weak.
Grace makes you strong !
Gal 3:29 – 4:5
You are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the Promise
Even if no health and wealth, I will still love Jesus because He first love me and I will still love Him
But blessed be God, this is superior Covenant and there is health and wealth
Of course we prefer health
But if you see 100 and 2 dollar notes on floor, we pick up both notes of health and wealth
Because we are healthy and wealthy we can preach to others and help others . We can push wheel chairs. Sponsor missionaries , build education centers and churches. Become a mega blessings to others.
But make sure these health and wealth are servants to bless others
Gal 4:1 is same thought as Gal 3 so we continue reading :
Even if you are a millionaire child, you cannot drive father ‘s fast cars or pilot his jet. Not mature yet.
Does not differ from the middle class father ‘s son.
In bible terminology , seems to have same rights as slave .
Why ? Church like a child when you mix law into church.
When you mix Law with Grace, it is like asking Hagar to take care of Isaac ! Grace as typified in Sarah can take care of Isaac perfectly on her own.
This is not balance ! Paul calls this stupid ! Foolish Galatians, Paul calls them
Law demands and does not help. Grace imparts and supplies the willingness .
Gal 4:3 we were in bondage of law – Stoicheion – ‘elements of world’
Elements is the ABCs. That is The fundamentals. That is the Law: the elements.
Law is in the infancy stage.
Law is guardian of children
When you are born again, you are full grown son and has full privileges of Adult Son who is heir . Greek : Huois.
Earth waiting for us to use our authority to speak against forces of darkness. Earth waiting for the Sons of God to manifest.
After speaking about Huois, Paul switched to “you” because Gentiles never under the Law.
Faith is superior to the Law
Jesus is superior to Law. So he touch unclean they become clean .
Horrible thought to say: Jesus needs to be washed in waters of purification after touching leper .
If we wake up and say I am sick etc because I have done something wrong, is a symptom of you being under Law
This is how we receive from God …
Gal 3:9
Those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham
Eg. Abraham lived like , “thank God, I believe my wife is pregnant”
Start the day that this is going to be a good day because of Jesus
No fearful expectation
The people who were healed in the scriptures were not obedient
Everything received via Faith not obedience
Jesus when he walked on earth looking for faith not obedience
The faith in Jesus produces that obedience unconsciously.
Woman with issue of blood broke more than one law . Pressed into the press of crowd to touch Jesus. If it is based on obedience, she is finished. Broke so many laws. But Jesus turned around and said her faith has helped her receive healing. Jesus was pleased with this new obedience- the obedience of faith !
Jesus saw the faith of the paralyzed man and his friends. The Paralyzed man lowers from roof had faith. That is why he asked friends to lower him to see Jesus
Leper also broke laws to be near Jesus. But Jesus is so gracious and healed him on the spot so the others around him did not have clear away from him when Leper disclosed his condition to Jesus
Faith is speaking in line with God’s reality. The reality is we have been crucified in Christ. So our identity is not with old Adam. The pain may be in the senses realm but not in the true reality as seen in God’s eyes.
This Is not Christian Science. This is Christian Common Sense.
Paul lived this way. It is not I that lives but Christ that lives in me.
If sinful thoughts arise, know as Paul did, that it is not the real you . Satan has a way of making you think those sinful thoughts are yours. Reject those sins. Reject those illness symptoms .
You can have what you say. You can have what you want in the future what you say now. Jesus thought us this.
God called forth what He wanted to see. See creation account in genesis
God changed Abram and Sarai name. So she would call forth Abraham as father of many even though no child born forth yet. Ditto, Sarai now called as Sarah , a princess.
Namaan had no consciousness of the Law. That is one reason why he could receive healing so easily.
Obedience is the fruit of blessing. Not the root. When Jesus blessed you, you want to bless others etc
Your Immune system can take junk food but it is the bitterness etc that comes out of heart that immobilizes immune system and then your body cannot take junk food well
Some people eat all sort of junk food and stay slim
Others are on diet and yet they put on weight !
Wake up and say I am slim strong and healthy.
Say what you want.
Jesus says you can have what you say.
Don’t say what you have now.
Notwithstanding not enough sleep, wake up and say to Jesus that I am going to have the greatest day because of Jesus
Good day not based on the numbers of hours slept but by believing God that this a good and favored day.
Receive Grace and all the dry leaves will fall eg smoking
Spurgeon smoked pipe and annointing still flowed. Eventually Spurgeon stopped
Moody visited Spurgeon and said how can you smoke as man of God. Spurgeon replied , same reason that Moody had fat belly.
Faith purifies heart.
Always obey the now Word – the spirit prompted Word and be healed. This is the scriptural example. Not obedience of Law. There is nothing in Mt Sinai that teaches you to follow spirit directed Word. This is NT. act like you are whole and you shall manifest ! If you are healthy, what would you do ? Don’t say, one day one day in the future
God gives pastor a vision: people are laying down with all sorts of blockages. God is saying if you only rise up , all these will fall off.
Faith must be in the right person: Jesus.
Contrast new age. Which is Belief but no basis.
Faith does not work without right object : Jesus
If you are tired and cannot wake up, say Jesus you are the strength of my life
Gal 3:12 . Either you live by faith or you live by law
Faith is superior to Law
Law and Faith are justapoxed and contrasted in this Galatians passage
Praise God and say notwithstanding my failings, I am the youngest 36 because by Jesus Christ stripes I am healed etc
If you are conscious of whether you are obedient or not obedient, you cannot function by living by faith
Faith is not a work. It is just believing
No need to go Bible School to receive Faith
Jesus says 5 x in bible, o YE of little faith. He never says o YE of little praying or fasting. Jesus wants you take more from Him.
Live life by believing right
Start day this way.
If things don’t go well. Say all things will work together for good in Jesus
It is test. Devil is trying to make you disbelieve. You are well. Don’t believe you are not healed. Don’t sign for the sickness package and reject the delivery . Don’t sign for the sickness package by speaking negative and agreeing you have the sickness. Declare to yourself, I am well !
Matt 27: 26 – 30
In front of whole garrison:
Jesus was stripped . He took our shame. Jesus took our shame and clothed us with robe of righteousness .
There our wealth paid for.
Don’t let anybody make you feel ashamed
This is the payment for our wealth
Jesus – all together lovely face was spate on by many. Whole face covered with spit. Maybe the spit of whole garrison.
Our Face deserved spit .
Jesus took our spit and shame .
the ‘reed’ used on Jesus is actually a rod used to knock the crown deeper into his brow
All these so that we can live the God kind of love in divine health, righteousness, blessed life etc
Live by faith !
Give Jesus the Praise !
