GOD IS FOR YOU TODAY !
The blessing is on you . So regardless of what job and place you are in, you prosper. Likewise, if blessing not on you , even if you are in a prosperous industry , you may not prosper if you enter into the same industry
What we see happening in the world now is the result of man’s warped intellect and propensity to destruction
God hides from wise in flesh but reveals to babes. Have a child like sprit and be humble for God to reveal wisdom to you.
When we come to church, intellect becomes servant.
“come let us reason together , though your sins are …”. Do note : There is Godly reason
When you come up to pulpit , speak as the oracles of God
Why do you want holiness ? If you say because we live in perilous times, that is wrong basis.
Holiness should produce love joy peace ! That is true holiness . If no such fruit it may be pseudo holiness . The Pharisees looked always like they are perpetually grumpy !
Prophecy in Daniel states that God is bringing Everlasting Righteousness .
(KJV) Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
Gal 2:9 : James Peter and John ministry – to Jews – and their books are placed side by side in Bible and not in chronological order
James 1:1 – written to Jewish people . Primarily meant for Jews
So in James where it says if there is any sick amongst you is referring to the unbelieving Jews and not church ! And James asks them to call for elders in church to pray for healing for them. In early church , all in the church was healed and the sickness was outside ! The “amongst you ” is for unbelievers and there was health in the church ! Wow ! How this strengthens us in church today ! Healing is the norm in church !
Judgment begins in house of God – refers to temple of God in Jerusalem and not the ‘gentile’ Church – Jesus himself referred to temple as such ( ‘don’ t make my Father’s house a den of thieves) . Peter wrote this in his epistle in AD 60 some years before Romans sacked and burnt temple in circa AD 70. Rightly divide the Word ! Peter was writing to Jews in his epistles. So don’t apply the phrase judgment begins in house of God to the church today and feel condemned !
Abraham – Faith
Sarah – Grace
What God has joined together let no one take apart : grace and faith
Devil twice in Abraham life tried to get heathen kings to take grace-Sarah from faith- Abraham
Grace always with Faith
God surrounds us with a shield for offensive and defensive purposes as well.
World will go through all sorts of shaking but the answer will be found in God’s house
But God will crown the year with goodness ! Theme for 2011
Lord turned and saw Peter with love even before Peter denied The Lord . goodness leads to repentance . See this in Luke.
Grace teaching must always be Christo-centric
In these days, you must always realize that God is ON your side
If you are preaching Grace, there is no middle ground , people either love you or hate you
Woe to you if all men speak well of you
You judge your performance based on your standing In Christ . Don’t ever judge your standing based on your performance
Many people are in error when they try to be holy to get God to be on their side.
First part of 1 Jon: God is light
Second part of 1 John: God is love
Liken to Urim and Thummin of high priest
1 John 1 starts the way it does because not addressed to believers but addressed to Gnostics . That is why John declares he says he has personally seen Christ in 1 John 1.
1 John 1:5
1 john 1:7 All sin : Gk – pas – every item or type of sin , we are cleansed from
It is not how you walk but where you walk. Walk in the kingdom of God not darkness. 1 John 1:7
1 John 1:7 : if we walk in the light : Greek is IN and not ” according ” to light
Can anybody walk at level of God ?!
Therefore 1 john 1:7 refers to the kingdom you are in
Walking in the light is not referring to you don’t sin because there is reference to blood of Christ cleansing from every sin in 1 John 1:7
1 Thessalonians 5:5
We are all sons of light
Obviously this has nothing to do with behavior , Paul declares all believers are sons of light
We are child of light.
If only we can see the way God sees us.
John 8:7 – 12
There was ONE who could stone her but he WOULD not
There were many there would stone her but COULD not
John 8:12 – the place of no condemnation is the place of light in Jesus Christ
“shall not” — ou mei : double negative in Gk : certainly not
Col 1:12
God qualified us to be partakers of inheritance of the saints in the light
Knowing these truths will empower us to live right
Once the blood of Jesus has touched you , you are set apart from common. This is what ‘ saints ‘ means , viz , holy.
I John 1:7 : John is using editorial WE and writing to Gnostics
If all Christians see each other as in the light, there will be more fellowship amongst each other
Present active indicative — ‘cleanses ‘
The blood keeps on keeping on cleansing us
1 John 1:9 : this cannot be written to Believers as once you receive Christ already have righteousness in Christ which cannot be lost.
All NT written FOR Christians BUT not TO all Christians in very instance.
1 John 2:12 forgiven : perfect passive indicatiive – act which is done once and cannot be repeated
1 John 2:12 : my little children – written to Believers
Chapter 1 written to unbelieving Jews and chapter 2 written to Believers . This must be ! As both chapters are at odds with each other
The way out of abundance and out of poverty is to confess that God supplies us and that by Jesus’ stripes we are whole
Therefore to get out of sin, how can we confess sin ?!
We confess we are righteous in Christ !
Frances Ridley havergal – hymn writer

It is as if we have been placed in a fountain by God that is filled with the precious blood of Jesus. As Francis Ridley Havergal pointed out, we are in “a continual present, always a present tense, not a present which the next moment becomes a past. It goes on cleansing, and I have no words to tell how my heart rejoices in this. Not a coming to be cleansed in the fountain only, but a REMAINING in the fountain, so that it may and can GO ON CLEANSING.”
