HAVING A HEART FOR THE KING

We bless because it affects the coming days and generations . The blessing thwarts devil plans. When Aaron high priest blesses God will put name on the people. So blessing by Senior Pastor is not a cliche, there was testimony that woman received healing for pain in legs after the blessing pronounced by Pastor at end

Eph 1:6

- accepted in the Beloved by Grace

Why not simply use “Jesus” in Eph 1:6?  Because “Accepted in the Beloved”  also refers to Jesus and is a more warm phrase.

“Accepted in the Beloved” is charitoo (Greek for “Accepted” in Eph 1:6) and is from charis (Greek) meaning highly favored

Used of Mary – mother of Jesus

Charitoo : also means you are charming or lovely

Amen is from root meaning amunah or faith

Say Amen to ensure blessing does not pass you by

2 Cor 5:9 – see NKJV not KJV for this

“well pleasing ” – euarestos (Greek) with Greek root meaning: excite the emotions

Eulogia Gk – bless
Baraka – hebrew for blessing

Once you are righteous , you are highly favored forever

Distinguish between highly favored and well pleasing

Some times when you do something special , you are well pleasing but always remember judge your conduct based on eternal righteous standard — you are always highly-favored in CHRIST

Rom 14:17 – 18

When you serve God – you have peace and joy

V 18 acceptable – euarestos

You approval amongst men is nice BUT  not necessary

“approved ” – men of integrity who refuse to debase money as money changers. Proven and tried — Gk : dokimos

Harvest is always greater than sowing . God is unfairly good

Gift to Paul – probably money is – euarestos – “well pleasing” to God

Children’s obedience to parents is “well pleasing” – euarestos - Colossians 3:20

“Children, obey [your] parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. “

You want a dokimos Christian for your children’s spouse

1 Cor 15:10 By Grace of God I am what I am

– Grace to me but not in vain

So it is possible that grace can be used in vain

Elvis had a voice that could sway millions for Christ but abused it . He was misled! God took Elvis home earlier to save him from more pain

God rewards you for using the Grace that He first gives you !

One way to know your call is if you find excitement in it

Use whatever Grace gives you and God will multiply

Use and not let the grace be in vain

God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love

Christ will give the increase

Christ reward you and be a debtor to no one . He is very practical in reward and gave fisher men a boat load of fish

Eg if you are single God will reward and tailor make a spouse for you

God cares when you serve him and take notes of your name

God is detailed and mentioned all their gifting and how each men used the grace gift

Each man does what he is graced to do. He is not jealous that his neighbor does more or has different giftings

V 13. Left during harvest – did not reap – to join David ! Very difficult to abandon harvest ! Instead chose to identify with Jesus – David in his exile !

If we know Jesus longing , we want to do it ! Like 3 mighty men going to Bethlehem to risk life to fetch the water for David

Gave water as drink offering as now it is precious now – like lamb without blemish to Lord

Do ministry for Christ – not self . First group forgets this

Some serve for the Kingdom but miss the king

Last group serve for King even when people don’t notice

Don’t judge from outside , God will give the increase

V 19 : did not attain to first 3 . First 3 – no giants killed etc – only honored king with drink water

But first 3 mentioned at start also did other mighty exploits – when you have heart for Jesus , you attain to might exploits too

Jesus also had inner circle

Unbeknownst also 900 healed etc when you have heart for Jesus

Don’t be like 2 other groups who aim for self in ministry of for Kingdom : aim to serve for Jesus

V 21 : each man depicts a type of Christ in exploits

God knows ! Some serve but not for Jesus

V 39 – Uriah – 37th mentioned mighty men

He had more than 37 but these stood up

If you don’t have heart for pastor , you should not be in church

David asked are you for me or against me ? Amaisai said, I am for you. David did not ask, are you for God

Joab had heart for kingdom but no heart for king
