2011-09-04 Ncc 1st svc – raw notes + 3rd svc

FORGIVEN RIGHTEOUSLY THROUGH JESUS OUR MERCY SEAT

[Note third service was video replay of first service which was preached in person.]

We really rejoice when we hear testimonies of lives transformed by God’ s Grace. Don’ t take things for granted .

Matt Crouch of TBN says he reads Destined To Reign whilst in the cubicle. Pastor takes this as a compliment.

David’s mighty men were divided into multiples of 3. The top 3 simply got the water desired by David. No huge battles fought etc. They served the King.

Others do things for kingdom, others do things for the cause. Last group do things only for themselves .

The group serving for kingdom is more noble but they have less heart for the pastor. Example is Joab who served for kingdom and even berated David .

Last group may be outwardly serving but maybe just really interested in passing out business cards. Only God knows the truth behind your serving.

Don’t get the idea that you always have to be doing things for Jesus . Mary pleased Jesus by simply resting and hearing His Word whole heartedly.

There is a prophetic anointing as pastor seems to know things happening in the church which he is not supposed to know.

Kingly anointing is when you say words , the words don’t fall to ground and has impact. Ncc has this anointing as materials seem to selling globally. And when people speak against you , words fall

Priestly anointing : sweep people into worship and when you leave them thirsting for Jesus .

Ncc appears to have this too.

Some people who whine , God does not leave or forsake but He does not like.

Make God’s objective your objective.

At that time, God wants Ark of Covenant to be moved to Zion

So in this vein do all things for glory of God . We know that all things we can do but we choose not to because perhaps it does not glorify God.

Ark of Covenant is make of shittim or acasia wood (wood symbolizing humanity) – incorruptible wood. But we don’t see the wood , we see the gold overlaid – the divine righteousness of God.

Don’t see the wood in brother ‘s eye — see him in God’s divine righteousness

We are partakers of the divine nature

But Jesus is pure 100 per cent God and man

Every thing in tabernacle focus on Ark of covenant .

Mercy Seat – pure gold ! And there GOD will commune and fellowship and speak with us.

Judah has most people so when tribes encamp the east side has most people stretched out and the whole view looks like a Cross from overhead

We look good in the Cross ! This is also evident from the overhead view of the tribes encamped around tabernacle.

Today we ALL can go into holy of holies . Blessed privilege of all now !
In OT only high priest could go within and only on Day of Atonement.

Same blood that saved you , tore the veil separating people from God. God does not like division

But why God divided in first place ? Because God holiness would fry up you and your sin . But when Jesus came — things changed and you have been purified in Him

Why do you put sunscreen ? You don’t want to be sun burnt . This is analogy.

Bring Jesus in the place of Grace — Mt Zion

In David tabernacle , there was only a makeshift tent ! No rituals , no laver , no bronze alter, etc just come straight ! Bible says they played loud music.

In last days Tabernacle of David will be raised again — charismatic revival in worship ! This is what pastor James said in book of Acts.

It is said that when David could not find a instrument to express his heart for worship , David created a new instrument . All stringed instruments had their origin with David .

Not always loud music . There were times for reflective and quiet worship too at the Tabernacle of David

David did say to musicians — play skillfully upon stringed instrument

No procedures to go through before you approach God in Davidic Tabernacle

Don’t just rush in. Stop for a while, worship and sense Jesus presence before you go out to proclaim By your stripes you are healed etc. You don’t have to conjure up faith . Sense Jesus presence

Clear side when you receive Wisdom , you like Solomon abandon formalistic ritualistic process in Gibeon and you head for Zion and Grace

There are some people who even though God has left that particular assembly , they foolishly linger on ! We don’t want to be such people who linger when God’s shekinah glory has left.

Clear sign of wisdom is you abandon sinful life style eg you abandon careless lifestyle and stop sowing wild oats

Make your word your bond , if you say you are going to exercise then do it. Even if you ‘bleed’

When you swear by own word , you won’t doubt when you command that mountain to move

If you do things in secret, you will subconsciously disrespect yourself , and send out vibes that you cannot be trusted , especially if you project or profess outwardly something contrary to what you do in secret

Respect is gained when they sense that you respect yourself. don’t do things in secret which make you disrespect yourself

Pastor said it is privilege for women and child to complain , but men should not whine , or blog anonymously .

If you don’t like someone , go up to him and tell him in the face

Stick with principles – eg don’t cheat against your wife. Be a real man !

These days boys spend so much time with lady maids , lady teachers etc

another thing it is ugly to see couple quarrel in public . Just tell the wife once . Goes back to your word is your bond.

Same goes with kids. Just say once . Don’t go around reasoning with them. Speak in authority and they know your word carries weight. Don’t go around having to explain to the kid

Pastor tells of story where he complimented Angie the worship leader that she did not look pregnant and then Angie went into a long discourse on what she ate etc . That is privilege of woman . But for men don’t whine and say everything out

When guys are out with guys especially with church guys — it is good — it helps to make them more man . Good also for wife as the men will unload on his friends and not on the wife. Some of the men used to do certain sports games etc before marriage . Let him do so also whilst in marriage .

Ladies should not be afraid to let men have one day with men. Out Bowling with guys etc

“Daddy will never scold you if you make a wrong decision , but daddy not happy with no decision.” pastor says to his daughter . This meant for boys . But Ladies have privilege of following.

In school etc where you are punished for making wrong decision and where you stop and just say “errmm” leads to a generation of followers and no leaders

Pastor has agreement with wife that she cannot disagree with him when he corrects child in presence of child and wife. She can go to him privately if she disagrees. If she contravenes this practice , pastor will put her in her place.

It is ok to disagree with the wife occasionally .

When a child does wrong , he should not be arguing that he did it because all his friends were doing this . This should attract a greater punishment. He should have acted based on his own decision and not be impacted by others. This is how you develop leadership

Raise kids that can think. The kid must reach a place where he says I have thought through the process and I made the decision . This should result in less punishment or none in contrast to kid saying he did so because he followed the crowd.

Pastor is against whacking as punishment but at same time is aware of special context and age of the child

Keep some things secret. Don’t go blog or twitter everything about where you have gone etc

Let the wife disagree sometimes. She will appreciate that man makes the decision and leads. Even professional woman love to have the man at home make decision and be the rock for her and treat her like a little girl.

In relation to children, should reach a stage where you don’t even have to raise your voice in public to correct child .

Woman always need security so pastor ‘s wife had reservations when he went without salary and just relies on his Intellectual property. but pastor makes the decision as a man – leadership ! Don’t always be afraid of wife . Some decisions have to be taken by husband even without 100 percent consensus With wife

Pastor tells of stories where it was shameful to hear that husbands had to call wife before decision is made.

Finger of lord wrote law but finger of priest sprinkle blood

For every infraction of law, there is covering

First mention of finger here .

Also bullock because – used biggest animal – to symbol the size of the propitiation

Used largest animal – bullock – as expression of sacrifice

Lev 16:14

one time blood shed because Jesus died once only

Blood Sprinkled 7 times on mercy seat by priest because we are humanity and now have perfect standing before God

Rom 3:24 – 25

Being justified freely by his grace

Gk – freely – Dorian – gratuitously or undeservedly

Present passive participle – justified freely EVEN right now

Jesus is the mercy seat — literally

see Young’s which translates as mercy seat in place of propitiation

Mercy seat – propitiation – mercy seat – hilastorian (Greek)

Used in LXX version in OT

It says in Exodus the Cherubim must look at each other

Gen 3:24 — cherubim

First mention of sword is here and it is flaming . Speaks of judgement

Placed cherubim so that Adam no longer had access to tree of Life. Sin was so terrible . Cost them paradise

Sin is not a small matter . God did not spare his own Son. Cross gives you a true estimate of sin – Jesus went through punishment in place of our sin even though in Him was no sin, He knew no sin and He did no sin.

You cannot touch sin and have no consequence. When you touch water you get wet.

But last mention is Zechariah 13:7 in reference to Jesus !

Before Cross Sword cannot touch Jesus but because Jesus carrying all our sins at Cross the sword now sheathed in Jesus at Cross and penetrates Him

Now sword of judgement found rest in Jesus bosom

Be ambassador for Christ, if they reject you they are rejecting Salvation , just shake the dust from your feet and move on. Have a dignity about yourself. You are still saved !

Be kingly when you share about Jesus, it is for their benefit that they revive Jesus , don’t give impression that sharing Jesus for your benefit and if they don’t receive , we are worse off.

Same for friends. Just because one person betrays you , you don’t have to be their friend, there are plenty of other good new friends out there

Have this attitude , you need healing, ok I go into God ‘s presence and pray for you etc

Rom 3:24 – 26

Death on cross to demonstrate God ‘s righteousness

Death on cross to demonstrate judicial rightness not mercy

Just and justifier of you — GOD

We are not afraid to step into God’s light because for us the light shows off our beauty in Jesus. We have been made righteous in Jesus

God must punish sin ! He punished it in Jesus’ body

‘Justified’ : present passive participle

Present active participle — ‘Justifier’ in rom 3:26

Behold the days are coming where I will make a new covenant … I will put my laws … and write them on your heart … I will remember your sins no more —- Heb 8

Remember no more — means : be mindful no more

Because God is not mindful of your sins, the stronger you rest in that powerful final clause of NT, the stronger that internal guidance system in you

Quoting Jeremiah 31:31

Jeremiah 31:31     Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

Jeremiah 31:33     But this [shall be] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Jeremiah 31:34    And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Heb 8:6 – 13 ; God has internal guidance system for you now etc put his word in your heart as He no longer considers your sin

The more you rest in this truth the stronger the internal guidance

Exo 34:4:7. Compare with heb 8:12

‘By no means clearing the guilty ‘. Etc — mix of law and grace

Merciful – hileos – propitious – root of hilastarion

I used to be mindful of sins .now no more

I will remember no more – ou mei – double negative

Ou : no

mei : never

Ou mei : never ever

See Thayer : ou mei : Augments the force of the negation : ou mei

We are forgiven judiciously not mercifully

John 20 : 9 – 12

John just look in and saw empty tomb and believed no need to see resurrected Jesus to believe that Jesus rose from dead.

From the borrowed womb to the borrow tomb – Jesus

John 20: 11 – 12

Here We see the true mercy seat in the tomb of Jesus – Mary was first to see

Saw one angel at foot and the other at head

The cherubim now see the mercy seat the blood shed

Their eyes represent God ‘s eye and they see blood of Jesus ! No longer see broken law or pot of manna or Aaron rod that budded

Blessed are our eyes for we see !
