Blood of Jesus cleanses us from every sin.
Today the throne does not issue commandments . It is place where Jesus dispenses Grace . In the OT the throne was throne of judgement.
In OT the blood of sacrifice was sprinkled on throne of judgement
Inaugurating the NT, Jesus blood was offered on the Cross
Jesus blood sprinkled on throne of Grace
The blood is to say there is a death and there is shedding of blood and that the sins are pair for
The blood keeps on keeping on cleansing us ( in the original Greek )
New and living way — throne of Grace
You will always be enlivened when you go before throne of Grace
The more grace you receive the more of a winner you are
Before you go for any important event or undertake anything go to throne of Grace where God will dispense his Grace
The blood has met all our sins and all our failures
The grace of God dispenses righteousness to man. God gives you and you receive
In OT everything you receive depends on your obedience
Today we receive because of Another’s Obedience
The friendship of David and Jonathan : a beautiful tale of friendship
Jonathan found a kindred spirit in David as David slew Goliath . Jonathan also a hero eg in Michmash (?)
Jonathan entered in covenant with David . One of the rituals is cutting the wrist and joining the blood which flows .
Marriage is covenant and it declares the ONEness.
Marriage is described as one FLESH not one spirit
One of the biggest reasons for marriage is so that husband and wife can be one flesh. Sex is a holy thing. Not dirty. The dirt is the mind.
Better to marry than to burn (with lust) – paraphrase of Bible
If there is no sex in marriage : it is called room mates
Jonathan comes from a family that hated David
Jonathan would always warn David of Saul’s plans
One thing that Jonathan never did , was he never identified himself with David. Some folks they just go church to accompany family members but never really receive Christ and identify themselves in Him.
Those that identified with David , never died
But those with Saul and Jonathan at Giboa died in the battle
Mephibosheth (hereinafter “M” ) was Jonathan son and his family feared David. This was Wrong thought of David.
M – Hebrew – to breath out shame.
Saul breathed fear into his family that David was out to get them because David had eye on throne . But this not true, David loved Saul and his house and said of Saul , ‘touch not his anointed ‘
many have wrong though of heavenly David and think God is judging them and shunning them, and giving them diseases and disaster, whilst real culprit — Devil — goes free
maid of M — type of Law – ran with baby M in the misplaced panic and fear dropped M and M became lame. M was 5 years old. 5 is number of Grace . Therefor the type her is – Fall from Grace . When you go to Law, law cannot help you. You fall from Grace
World also has wrong misplaced fear of God and runs from God and in process dropped M. When you run to Law , law will drop you and you fall from Grace
Lo – dabar : joke– place of low standards or bars
God never meant us to live in desert or else he would never put Adam in Eden
Maybe some of us in place of no pasture where it seems God is not talking to you etc , but no, know this , God is looking for you to bless. He remembers the covenant He cut with Jesus
They went to Lo- davar . No – word. Or no – pasture
Opposite of dessert is pasture. Here , son of king living in place of no pasture and no word from God , but truth is heavenly David is looking for you to bless ! God never forget covenant between David and Jon
Jesus also cut covenant on the Cross !
So all that all God has, we can have
But we are incapable of cutting such covenant, so Jesus cut covenant with God for us .
See OT where Abraham fell asleep before he could walk through pieces ( 5 types of animal ) of covenant and pillar of fire (Jesus – light of world ) and pillar of cloud (God the father) walked and cut the covenant
If Abraham had cut the covenant , we would had ‘had it ‘ as he cannot as human keep covenant . Pieces of split animals is picture of consequences if Abraham or his seed fail in keeping covenant .
Instead Abraham became a sleeping partner of Covanant.
We are the beneficiaries of the Covenant that ANOTHER cut for us.
David saw the cut wrist where he cut Covenant cut with Jon, and he said is there anybody in Jon house where he show kindness to
Heavenly David also says , I am for you ! Go to Lo – davar and get M ( means : breathing out shame ) , I want to bless him
God has so much in abundance of blessings in his heart and is looking for you .
M was a prince but lived like a pauper and lived below his privileges . Like some folks who don’t know their identity in Christ.
M probably thought it was the end of line when David troops came . That is how some in the world thinks when somebody invites them to church – that ‘that’s it !”
2 Sam 9 : 1 – 7
Lo – devar : no garden or no pasture or no word
Imagine all these years David was blamed for your father ‘s death etc. Like many people in world hear that God is responsible for natural disasters etc and is judgmental God
But David said to M : DON’T be afraid
‘ I will show you kindness for Jonathan’s sake ‘
That is what God is saying to us today
God is saying , ‘ I will show you kindness for Jesus sake ‘
See the wounds of Jesus. Jesus bore your sins. God is faithful to Jesus work on the Cross
See 2 Sam 9:7
God will show us kindness for Jesus sake ( Jon is the type)
It is a question of how good Jesus is , not you
God will heal, bless etc, for Jesus sake
David said, see the wrist, this is everlasting Covenant .
Same for Jesus, The Father is faithful to the stripes , Jesus took
Don’t put on your eye on ONE way ! Jesus can unblock the enbloc sale of your condo and you can receive windfall . Nevertheless don’t limit God to one way for God to proposer !
‘You will eat at my table continually’ : Heavenly David says to us
How difficult is this ?
You eat you way to victory : feeding on the death of the Lamb
Not by willpower or trying , you are transformed by eating the Word of God
Milk comes from mother ‘s breast but bread and wine is for mature sons of God.
Melchizedek came with bread and wine.
To make bread, you have to sift flour, pinch etc, baked . Like how Jesus was beaten for our justification !
When you discern Jesus suffering , and how Jesus suffered for those sins – your sins – you shall be whole
Likewise for grapes, crushed like Jesus.
The more you feed on Jesus passion and his suffering, your body becomes whole and well.
This is feeding on bread and wine and feeding on Jesus . This is what God wants us to feed us.
M legs are to be put out of sight , nobody will see , just feed on table continually . This is what heavenly David wants.
Eventually when you feed on Jesus you shall manifest the healing
Milk for babies as no beating and crushing . Church now mature and can take bread and wine.
Don’t look under table and see other ‘s legs and weakness All are lame and have weakness. Look at the roasted lamb on the table and feast on it.
Ziba was servant of M and Ziba was to work in field and bring M the produce
To the servant, heavenly David gave commands , but to adopted son , he gave grace and said ‘be not afraid’
35 is number of sons and servants of Ziba altogether
7 x 5 ( perfect grace) – perfect grace – will serve you all the days of your life — David said to M
Ziba had 35 sons and servants in total.
M is always the son of a king wherever he is – even in Lo davar
Don’t believe the roaring devil lion
We are sons of God and once a while we roll up sleeves to do manual work like servant — there is glory here ! But always a son!
When a son of God serves as servant there is glory there.
When coolie serves , no glory. As coolie is a servant.
Jesus said to devil , I don’t need to perform to prove to devil , to prove who He is — I AM the son of GOD
“… if you are son of God … “. Devil dropped “beloved” when he spoke to Jesus
Devil dropped ‘beloved’
The moment you are reminded that you are beloved in Christ, you will reign in life
We are His Beloved Sons . Know this and reign in life.
Jesus knew He does not need to perform to prove that He is the son of God.
That is works if Jesus has to perform to prove that He is son of God
Matt 27:36 – 43
Devil never change his devices . At cross again , devil influenced people to mock Jesus to prove that he is son of God
Matt 27: 40 ” … If you are the son of God ” — devil again , same device
Psalm 22 : depicts events on Cross
“why have you forsaken us ?” Jesus cried this to let us know He was forsaken so we can be embraced by Father
In OT people only saw back parts. God is merciful because His presence and His Holiness would destroy them because of their sin
In NT jesus lifted up the woman who touched him so she can behold his face
Jesus is a man’s man but at Cross he became a worm : psalm 22:6
We are worms but He took our sins and became the worms on our behalf. He became a worm so we can become , Men
A worm will worm away but A real man will confront the problem
‘You can make first move’ for single ladies — Ruth is example
Psalm 22:12 – 13 Jesus called Pharisees bulls of bashan like a roaring lion
“if you are the son of God ” — if you hear someone who causes doubting your identity in Christ — that is roaring of lion Of devil
When you hear such preaching that makes you doubt your identity in Christ – - walk out ! You have just heard the roaring of a lion
We ought to be preachers of good news , not bad news
Rom 6:14
– only one time in Romans is “sin” a verb
Sin is mother of all bad things
Sin brought death , depression , disease etc
In rom 6:14 – sin is noun – sin as power
Sin and Satan and all derivatives of sin has no dominion over you because we no longer under law but under Grace
V 14 : for sin shall not have dominion over you because you are not under law for you are under Grace
What you are to God : – being under Law
What Jesus is to God : – being under Grace
The more conscious of what Jesus is before to God, — under Grace but if you are thinking of how you are to God or how pleasing you are to Him — practically under Law
What you are to me for Jonathan ‘s sake ! — under Grace
How come bad things happen if You are son of God, — devil will taunt
But you are still son of God
Sometimes butterflies fall among rubbish , but you are still a butterfly despite the occasional bad circumstance . You don’t regress to a worm . You are still butterfy
