Kids response : they sit down but are standing up inside
See the heart of God in this matter
Jesus we are all ready to see , know and receive from you (Jesus ) afresh
Rom 4:1 – 3
1. Abraham was not made righteous by his own good works
2. Because of this , Abraham could not boast in his own good works
3. Abraham became righteous simply by believing
Believing what ?

Abraham believed that what God promised God can perform
Because Abraham believed as such, God called Abraham righteous
God promised God performs therefore God gets glory, we just believe
Little girl realizes that she can go to Jesus and she began to learn and enjoy Mandarin as second language taught in school. Jesus is her wisdom , strength and favor !
Analogy : Jesus is her older brother who has strength to help 4 year old sister to open a jar. Kid sister not stupid simply weak and no strength . But she would be not wise if she did not turn to older brother. Jesus is our older brother . He rains favor on us.
Abraham and Sarah — ‘We believe you as God because you give life — Isaac ‘ — that is why called righteous by God
Same as us ! We believe Jesus gives us life ! So called righteous by God.
Even if you driving record was spotless before if you make a traffic infraction now, you can be fined now. Nevermind your past clean record. Same with sin ! One sin can send you to eternal punishment — God standard is very high and perfect — that is why we need Jesus
We say- You God are our life giver – as we by ourselves cannot atone for our sins
Eternal life begins as soon as we receive Jesus in our lives.
It brings life into every aspect of our lives — this is the good news – and we will give God the glory when we see and believe
What do we need to do ? In kid’s case she did need to study . But look to Jesus and Jesus performed on her behalf . Jesus gets the glory ! Jesus made studying easier , caused her to enjoy studying and gave favor
Christian life is impossible ! But with God all things possible
Abraham and Sarah – what they have to do ? They just enjoyed each other and believed God ! God performed and Isaac born and God gets glory
John 9:1 – 7
“… Neither …. That the works of God may be revealed !”
Jesus knew who sinned but He did not want folks to consider whose sin and the sin issue and what caused in. Jesus instead wanted people to look to Him for the solution so that God can manifest His Grace and Glory.
Couple with cyst in unborn baby simple see Jesus and did not consider situation . Took communion and apply anointing oil daily . Baby born normal
and now 2 years old. Simple believed Jesus !

Experiment with 2 groups of rats. One group lived longer because they were loved by lab tech folks — they stroked them, talked to them etc

Is Lazarus mere lazy bum?

Lazarus is :
“the one WHOM you love is sick” Mary said to Jesus
Lazarus not a mere nobody . Jesus bothers about us ！
Jesus cares about the one sheep lost amongst the 100 sheep
Jesus love raised Lazarus, not Mary’s.
Lazarus means: God is my Help
!
God is able to show loving kindness to those who know God is our help !
He deserves the praise and glory !

Loved the ephesians 2 allusion , even though it was not on screen… Especially since a group of us were discussing it yesterday

Pastor made a very quick mention of “when we were dead in our trespasses , Christ made us alive “.
Context was with regards to studying… If lack focus, He is your focus, etc etc
Significance to me was that being dead = no hope, lost cause, but Christ made us live, creating a way when there is no way

Today’s message was interesting as it answered my question why although my family, friends and myself included prayed very hard about my medical condition and yet I had to undergo the operation. I now understand that I still had to go through the process, must like the child has to study to improve her manadarin. The main messge is that the miracle/blessing is that I am healed in the process and I am still alive. Many others have gone through the process and did not come out alive.

Thank you, Terence, for the notes! Was at the second service too. Lian’s message was really uplifting! Notice too that Ps Lian stopped being apologetic or awkard about Ps Prince’s absence. Absolutely no mention of it.
Was strucked by her mentioning of the Scarlet worm in regards to the cord hung by Rahab. That reminds me of Psalm 22 where Jesus described Himself as the worm. Everything in the bible really fits in so perfectly—- just beautiful.
